Mungret St Paul's played out a draw with Newcastle West in round one. Brian Begley's side will be frustrated by that result, the city side led by ten points during that contest and they had to rely on a stoppage time point from Mark O'Brien to settle for the draw.

Brian Barry is a long-term injury absentee for the city side, Barry is currently sidelined with an ACL injury. Fintan Fitzgerald also missed last week's draw with Newcastle West through injury, he was part of the Limerick pre-season squad earlier this year.

Limerick U20 hurler Mark O'Brien was in impressive scoring form for Mungret St Paul's scoring 0-6 in round one.

Adare will take some encouragement with the way they battled back against Monaleen. Willie Griffin made his return from a long-term injury and Griffin was on target with 0-12 in Adare's five point defeat to Monaleen. Limerick senior hurler Declan Hannon lined out at wing forward for Mark Foley's side last week.

Conor Ryan, Darragh Gleeson and Patrick Kearney who all lined out for Ardscoil Rís this in the year in the Harty Cup have all broke onto the Adare senior hurling team.

Verdict: Mungret St Paul's
