LIMERICK minor hurling manager Donal O'Grady was left frustrated by his side's performance in their defeat to Clare on Friday.
O'Grady is expecting a big reaction from his team in their All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final on May 24-25.The Shannonsiders will play the losers of the Leinster semi-final.
“I hope this is a big learning for them. It's great, we are so lucky that we have a chance to redeem ourselves. If the season ended on a performance like that, it would really stick in the throat for awhile.”
Turnovers proved costly in Limerick's defeat to Clare and it is something manager O'Grady feels his side will need to improve.
“The real one was turning over the ball, we got absolutely crucified by Clare caught up on physical battles that we couldn't deal with, coughed up the ball and were punished. It has worked reasonably well up to now, (Friday night) was an eye opener for everyone.”
O'Grady is expecting a reaction from his side in the All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final.
“Obviously we will be playing a Leinster (team). We'll work hard, I think there's way more in these boys. We'll get it out of them, obviously now it's championship, real, real championship. It's knockout from here on in, I'm expecting a big reaction from the lads,” added O'Grady.
