FORMER Limerick underage hurling star Eoghan McNamara has been drafted into the Dublin senior hurling panel for the 2025 season.
Niall Ó Ceallacháin has called the former Limerick hurler into his squad. Dublin have started their Division 1B league campaign brightly with victories over Antrim and Westmeath. Offaly narrowly defeated Dublin last weekend. McNamara is battling it out with Sean Brennan and Eddie Gibbons for the Dublin number one jersey.
The Dubs will be aiming to finish their league campaign on a high against Waterford, Carlow and Laois.
Meanwhile, the Doon clubmnan lined out for his club in 2018 and 2020 in the Limerick senior club hurling finals where they were defeated by Na Piarsaigh.
In 2023, McNamara transferred from Doon to south Dublin club Faughs. This year he was part of the Faughs senior team that reached the Dublin senior 2 club hurling championship semi-final.
Eoghan McNamara played minor and u21 hurling for Limerick. In 2017, McNamara was part of the Limerick team that won a Munster and All-Ireland U21 championship.
Three years earlier the east Limerick man won a provincial championship with the Shannonsiders minor team. McNamara has previously been part of the Trinity Cup Fitzgibbon Cup teams while he was studying in the Dublin college.
