UNIVERSITY of Limerick have been drawn against MTU Cork in the semi-final of the Fitzgibbon Cup on Tuesday evening at 8pm in the Mallow GAA Grounds.

UL and UCC advanced directly to the semi-finals and as a result of UCC playing MTU Cork in the group stages that meant UL were drawn against MTU Cork.

Meanwhile, UCC face DCU in the other semi-final of the Fitzgibbon Cup on Tuesday evening at 6:30pm in SETU Carlow. DCU narrowly defeated Mary Immaculate College in the Fitzgibbon Cup quarter-final. MTU Cork had too much for TUS Midwest in the other quarter-final.

Both games will be streamed on the TG4 YouTube channel.

Limerick's Colin Coughlan is the captain of the UL Fitzgibbon Cup team.

UL have recorded victories over SETU Waterford, ATU Galway and Mary I. Brian Ryan's side are hoping to reach the Fitzgibbon Cup decider for the fourth year in-a-row.

Limerick senior hurlers Adam English, Colin Coughlan, Patrick O'Donovan, Aidan O'Connor and Conor Hanley Clarke have all featured for the Castletroy based college. Evan O'Leary, Barry Duff, Sam Williams and Sean O'Neill are some of the  other Limerick representatives on the UL team.

All-star nominee Cathal O'Neill has missed the majority of the Fitzgibbon Cup campaign for UL with a hamstring injury.
