Hospital's John the Baptist season hinges on Harty Cup knockout clash

JOHN THE BAPTIST Community school are back in action in a do-or-die Harty Cup clash this Wednesday. The Hospital outfit face St Flannan's at 1:30pm in the TUS GAA Grounds, Moylish. 

Michael Martin's charges finished in second place in group one of the Munster post-primary U19 A hurling competition.
John The Baptist recorded a victory over Rice College Ennis and played out a draw with Doon during the group stages.

CBC Cork narrowly defeated Hospital to claim top spot in group one of the Harty Cup.

Hugh Flanagan and Diarmuid Hurley have stepped up with crucial scores for last year's Harty Cup quarter-finalists.
Flanagan has scored an impressive 0-23 in Hospital's three games. The Limerick U20 star has earned a call up into John Kiely's squad.

Limerick minor hurling captain Diarmaid Hurley has been on target with 2-9 from open play for his school.Their opponents St Flannan's are unbeaten in this year's Harty Cup.

The Clare side drew with Thurles CBS in round one. St Flannan's comfortably got the better of Tralee CBS to advance into the knockout stages.

De La Salle College face Neenagh CBS, Thurles CBS take on Our Lady's Templemore and Blackwater Community School meet Gaelcholáiste Mhuire AG in the three remaining Harty Cup preliminary quarter-finals. All four preliminary quarter-finals take place on Wednesday afternoon.

Thurles CBS, CBC Cork, Midleton CBS and Ardscoil Rís have all advanced directly into the Harty Cup quarter-finals on January 8.
