Limerick senior hurling championship final spots up for grabs

FOUR teams remain in the hunt to lift the John Daly Cup for the Limerick senior hurling champions.

Na Piarsaigh, Kilmallock, Doon and Patrickswell have all reached the Limerick SHC semi-finals for the second year in-a-row.
Both semi-finals take place this Sunday afternoon.

The Limerick SHC final takes place on Sunday, October 27 in the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

That game will be shown live on TG4 TV.

Patrickswell v Doon

SUNDAY, KILMALLOCK, 1PM

Patrickswell have progressed into the Limerick SHC semi-finals after defeating Monaleen 0-20 to 0-18 in the quarter-final of the SHC in Bruff on Sunday afternoon.

Doon won four of their five group games in group one of the championship.

Patrrickswell and Doon met in round two of the SHC where Doon emerged victoious 4-14 to 0-20.

Adam English has been in impressive form for the East Limerick side where he has scored 2-38 over the course of the Championship.

Derek McGrath has taken over the reins this year in Doon. McGrath has made a significant impact.

Richie English missed the last two group games through injury. The Limerick senior star will be hoping to make his return from injury in this weekend's game.

Limerick U20 star Patrick Kirby has stood up. Kirby has been on target with 3-23 during Ciaran Carey's side's championship campaign.

Patrickswell are bidding to reach back to back county finals, while Doon are hoping to reach the county final for the first time since 2020.

This game is set to go to the wire but Doon have shown more form in this year's championship.

Na Piarsaigh v Kilmallock


SUNDAY, MICK NEVILLE PARK, RATHKEALE 4pm


Reigning county champions, Na Piarsaigh are bidding to win their third Limerick county title in-a-row.The Caherdavin outfit are chasing after their own bit of history this year.

Patrickswell were the last team in 1990 to win three county titles in-a-row.

Na Piarsaigh still remain the team to beat this year.Shane O'Neill's side won four of the five group games.

Adrian Breen and Jerome Boylan's return from their respective injuries have boosted the city club's strength and depth.William O'Donoghue, Conor Boylan and Mike Casey have all stood out.

Waterford senior hurling manager Peter Queally will know Kilmallock need to produce their best performance if they are to cause an upset.

Kilmallock secured a narrow two-point victory over Ballybrown in the Limerick SHC quarter-finals last weekend. Shane O'Brien has built impressively on his breakthrough season with the Limerick senior hurlers.

The South Limerick side were level at half-time with Na Piarsaigh in the group game between the sides. Na Piarsaigh went on to win by nine points.

Kilmallock are aiming to reach their first county final since 2022.
