THE race for the knock-out stages of the Bon Secours Limerick senior hurling championship is heating up with now just one round of group games to go.
THE fixtures have been announced for round of the Limerick ssenior hurling championship have been announced.
Doon and Na Piarsaigh have already secured their place in the semi-final stages of the championship.
All six games take place in the Limerick SHC take place on Sunday September 22.
In group one, Patrickswell and Kilmallock meet in Mick Neville Park at 2:15pm. Both clubs will be looking to finish their group campaigns on a high.
Patrickswell face Ahane in round four of the Limerick SHC on Friday evening in Claughaun at 6pm. The winner of this clash will put themselves in a fantastic position to reach the quarter-finals.
If Patrickswell defeat Ahane, last year's county finalists will advance into the last six. Ahane need a victory to keep their hopes alive of reaching the knock-out stages.
Group one leaders, Doon will look to make it five wins out of five against Ahane at 2:15pm in Cappamore.
At the same time in Claughaun, reigning county champions Na Piarsaigh face Mungret St Paul's. Mungret St Paul's are yet to register a win in this year's Championship and Brian Begley's side have been relegated to group two of the Limerick SHC for 2025 season.
Group two of the Limerick SHC is set to be a fascinating weekend of action. All three games take place on Sunday September 22 at 4:15pm.
Adare and South Liberties face off in a do-or-die clash in Bruff. The loser will be relegated to Premier Intermediate hurling for the 2025 season. Adare need a draw or victory to retain their senior status, while the only way South Liberties can avoid relegation is by winning this game.
The other four teams remain in the hunt to reach the quarter-finals of the SHC.
Ballybrown take on Dromin Athlacca in Claughaun. Ballybrown sit top of group two and the city side need a draw or a victory to reach the last six. Christy Keyes' charges know a victory or a draw will secure promotion into group one of the SHC for the 2025 season.
Dromin Athlacca can no longer be promoted to group one of the SHC but last year's Premier Intermediate champions need a victory over Ballybrown and Monaleen to defeat Kildimo Pallaskenry for them to reach the quarter-finals.
Monaleen face Kildimo Pallaskenry in Mungret. Monaleen sit in second place on six points, while Kildimo Pallaskenry are just behind them on five points.
The Castletroy side just need a draw or victory to reach the last six of the Championship. Eoin Brislane's charges need Ballybrown to be defeated or Dromin Athlacca and Ballybrown to finish all square if Monaleen are to make the jump up to group one of the SHC.
It's simple for Kildimo Pallaskenry, Natal O'Grady's side need a win to keep Kildimo Pallskenry in the Championship. There could be a case where Ballybrown, Dromin Athlacca and Monaleen all finish on six points, then the scoring difference from the games between those clubs would come into the equation.
