AFTER Limerick's narrow defeat to Cork in the All-Ireland semi-final, players around the county will be hoping that their form in the Club Championship can earn them a call onto the Limerick senior hurling panel for 2025.

Here we look at five players that have impressed in the early rounds of the Limerick Club Hurling Championship.

1. Cian O'Donovan (Doon)

Brother of current Limerick senior hurler Darragh O'Donovan, Cian O'Donovan has been one of the standout hurlers throughout the Club Championship. Cian O'Donovan has impressed in the half back line scoring 0-3 for Doon during this year's SHC. The Doon youngster has brought huge energy and pace in the middle third. O'Donovan has been a central part of Derek McGrath's sides start to the Championship.

2. Cian Scully (Dromin/Athlacca)

Cian Scully was captain of this year's Limerick U20 team. Scully has enjoyed his clubs fantastic start to the Senior Championship where last year's Premier Intermediate Champions have defeated South Liberties and Adare. The Dromin/Athlaccca native has looked assured in the number six jersey where he has landed 0-3 from play. 2025 could be the year where Cian Scully gets called into the Limerick squad.

3. Fintan Fitzgerald (Mungret St Paul's)

Fitzgerald has been impressive throughout Mungret St Paul's group one campaign of the Senior Hurling Championship. The Mungret St Paul's attacker has given opposition defenders plenty to think about in the early rounds of the SHC. This year's Limerick U20 hurler has blistering pace and he has been on target with 0-4 from play. The City based side have been unlucky losing their first two games of the Championship by one point.

4. Jimmy Quilty (Blackrock)

In the past year, Jimmy Quilty has struggled with injury. Quilty has stood out for his club Blackrock during the Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship. The Blackrock clubman has been tipped as one of the brightest young prospects in Limerick for quite awhile and 2025 certainly feels like a year where Quilty will see increased gametime in the Limerick jersey. Quilty grabbed 1-1 at the weekend in Blackrock's narrow defeat to Bruff.

5. Will Henn (Na Piarsaigh)

Henn has been a consistent performer for Na Piarsaigh during the SHC. The lively Caherdavin forward has cemented his place on the reigning county champions starting XV scoring 0-5 all coming from play in the opening two rounds of the Championship. The Na Piarsaigh corner forward will be looking to build on his impressive start to the SHC and earn a call onto the Limerick senior hurling squad for the 2025 season.
