LIMERICK'S Colin Ryan gave an inspirtational display during the M. Donnelly All-Ireland Poc Fada Finals at Annaverna Mountain in the Cooley Peninsula, Ravensdale in County Louth.
Ryan finished in second place behind Kerry hurler Fionán Mackessy who won the All-Ireland Poc Fada title for the second year in-a-row. Mackessy finished two shots ahead of the Limerick native.
The rain and wind made the conditions dfifficults for all of the participants taking part.
Colin Ryan was part of the John Kiely's squad in 2018 when Limerick went on to win the All-Ireland title. The former Limerick hurler won the All-Ireland Poc Fada title in 2021 and in the last three years he has competed in the Poc Fada competition.
The former inter-county hurler faced difficult opponents in the All-Ireland Poc Finals which included Offaly hurlers and All-Ireland winning Clare hurlers David Fitzgerald and Peter Duggan.
Ryan plays his club hurling for Pallasgreen and he has enjoyed a mixed a start to his club's campaign with a victory over St Kieran's and a defeat to Bruree. Pallasgreen face Murroe Boher, Mungret St Paul's and Croagh Kilfinny in their three remaining group games in Group One of the Nick Grene Intermediate Hurling Championship.
