THE second fixture in the group stages of the Lyons of Limerick premier intermediate hurling championship takes place this Saturday evening.
Effin face Garryspillane in their opening group fixture at Bruff at 7pm.
The eight-team premier intermediate hurling championship is run as a round-robin series with each team playing seven games, the top four teams after that reach the semi-finals, while the bottom team is relegated.
Effin reached the semi-finals of the Limerick premier intermediate championship last year before losing out to Blackrock.
Their opponents, Garryspillane, were relegated from the senior 'B' championship at the end of last year.
