LIMERICK senior hurling manager John Kiely has named his starting team for Saturday's Allianz Hurling League opener with Cork at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
The Galbally man has selected seven of the side that tasted All-Ireland glory against Kilkenny last July. Declan Hannon makes his first appearance of 2023 and will captain the team from centre-back.
David McCarthy makes his first appearance in the league for Limerick having started both of their Co-op Superstores Munster Hurling League games.
Sean Finn, Richie English and Aaron Costello are in the full-back line, while Hannon is flanked on either wing by Colin Coughlan and Dan Morrissey. Doon duo Darragh O'Donovan and Barry Murphy form a new midfield partnership.
Gearoid Hegarty also comes into the half-forward line and will be joined by David Reidy and Tom Morrissey. Limerick's full forward line is Adam English, Seamus Flanagan and Oisin O'Reilly.
Cian Lynch is set to make his return from injury from the bench. The game with Cork on Saturday has a 7:30pm start at Pairc Ui Chaoimh and is live on RTE.
