Limerick Racecourse hosts the ‘Irish Cheltenham Experience’ at Greenmount Park on Thursday, March 12 during the Cheltenham National Hunt Festival
LIMERICK Racecourse has announced details of their Irish Cheltenham Raceday Experience, a unique festival-style racing and hospitality event designed to bring the atmosphere of the Cheltenham Festival to Irish racegoers on March 12.
The Irish Cheltenham Experience will be staged at Limerick, the only racecourse in Ireland to host live racing on the track during the Cheltenham Festival in mid-March. In addition Limerick will host an eight-race card on the day.
The event is a fully immersive experience, combining live racing, premium hospitality in Limerick's ‘Cheltenham Lounge’ and a packed entertainment programme.
Planned elements include a ‘Legends Parade’ celebrating local Cheltenham victors, a pre-racing Tipster Panel Discussion before the racing focused on the Thursday and Friday of Cheltenham along with further and a full race-day festival atmosphere throughout the venue.
Racegoers will also enjoy live music immediately after racing, transforming the event into a full-day and evening social experience.

CEO of Limerick Racecourse, Michael Lynch said: “The Irish Cheltenham Raceday Experience is about creating something truly special for Irish racegoers.
“By combining live racing, immersive festival elements and premium hospitality, we’re delivering an experience that captures the magic of Cheltenham while creating something uniquely Irish. We are keen to grow this into a marquee raceday in this part of the country in the coming years.”
The BOYLESports Cheltenham Tipster Panel will begin at 11am and will feature expert knowledge from Michael Hourigan, Emmet McNamara and Mark Enright with Mark Fanning hosting on the day.
BOYLESports will kindly give the first 200 through the gate on the day a €5 free bet in their shops here on the day.
A Cheltenham Legends parade will feature Jezki, Binocular (both former Champion Hurdle winners) and More of That (Stayers Hurdler Winner.
Live Music by The Busker straight after the racing.
The First Race goes to post at Limerick on March 12 at 12:30pm. Gates open at 10:30am.
General Admission is €12 with Students and OAP’s getting in for €8. Tickets can be bought at www.limerickraces.ie.
