Attendees at the launch of the Mr Binman Limerick Christmas Racing Festival at Greenmount Park
THE Mr Binman Limerick Christmas Racing Festival is set to take place from St Stephen’s Day, December 26, through December 29 at the Limerick Racecourse, drawing crowds from near and far for four exhilarating days of racing, entertainment, and holiday cheer.
Mr Binman is once again the main sponsor of the four-day festival. Joe Cleary, of Mr Binman, said: “Mr Binman is absolutely thrilled to be part of the Christmas Racing Festival – an event that brings the community together. This partnership is about more than sponsorship; it’s about being at the heart of local life and driving a shared commitment to a greener, cleaner Limerick.”

The Big Boss Group rejoins the festival this year, One of Ireland leading event planners, bringing their unique flair that captivated audiences. Big Boss Presents say they are dedicated to creating a vibrant atmosphere that caters to all from seasoned racegoers to those experiencing a race day for the very first time.
Each day will feature diverse attractions. Riann O'Dwyer, of Big Boss, said: “It's great to see people here from local hotels, restaurants, and hospitality businesses and also Craig from Limerick at Night, Places which will hopefully benefit a lot from this festival bringing people to Limerick.”
He added: “Last year’s festival was a real standout. We saw record crowds, an incredible buzz right across Limerick, The atmosphere on St. Stephen’s Day was electric.
“It really reminded us what makes this festival unique: it’s not just about great racing, it’s about people coming together — families, friends, visitors, and locals - all celebrating the season in true Limerick style.
Four Days of Festivities and Racing Action
The Christmas Racing Festival is expected to welcome a bumper attendance over the four days, offering a significant economic boost to Limerick, particularly for local hotels and hospitality venues. Each day promises unique highlights:
● Day 1 (Friday, December 26): Kicking off with one of the year’s most highly attended racing days, Limerick Racecourse will collaborate with Big Boss Events and Master Chefs, planning on bringing the best of catering, hospitality and live entertainment to complement the excellent card of National Hunt Racing
● Day 2 (Saturday December 27): Ladies Day with the Holman Lee Agency presenting a dazzling display of fashion with the Most Stylish Lady and Couple Judging building on the recent success at the Munster National Weekend. After a great day of racing racegoers can now look forward to the thrilling clash between Munster and Leinster rugby, in Thomond Park for the ultimate day out.
● Day 3 (Sunday, December 28): Featuring the prestigious Faugheen Grade 1 race with massive prize money of €100k up for grabs, this day is not to be missed by racing enthusiasts. As on all 4 days we are offering excellent varied options for hospitality from our Private Suites to the Panoramic Restaurant 4 course Luncheon to Social Packages.
● Day 4 (Monday, December 29): Our Family Fun Day, in association with Horse Racing Ireland, invites families to enjoy a festive day filled with activities. Here we have so much to offer for the kids such as play areas / Carnival rides/ Face Painting and Characters plus much more. We, as on all days of the festival, will also provide excellent entertainment during and after racing so you can make an evening of it.
