Beloved Limerick band to return for an incredible night in the Treaty City

Hermitage Green is set to return to a special venue in Treaty City

A BELOVED Limerick band is set to return to a Treaty City venue, where they “had some of the most incredible nights” of their lives.

One of the most popular bands from Limerick, Hermitage Green, will perform in King John’s Castle -  the home of some of the best shows of their career. Presented by Dolans, the band will play in King John’s Castle on Sunday, April 30, 2023.

The five-piece has been touring sold-out shows across the globe, from the Middle East to Australia to North America to the United Kingdom.

But to bass player and singer, Barry Murphy, home holds a special place. “We cannot wait to get back to King John's Castle, to our hometown crowd and have another special night,” he said.

“King John's Castle is one of the most iconic venues in the country, and we are so excited to be back. We’ve had some of the most incredible nights of our lives on that stage, and it’s hard to believe it’s been 4 years since we’ve played there”, Barry added.

In 2021, Hermitage Green released their pop-centric album, ‘Hi Generation’, produced by the acclaimed Philip Magee.

With a unique arrangement of instruments, such as the bodhrán, djembe, or banjo, Hermitage Green set themselves apart as an original offering of Irish music.

After selling out iconic music venues and performing for thousands of people at some of the biggest festivals, the band has had the chance to share the stage with notable acts such as Lewis Capaldi, Bastille, Paloma Faith, Two Door Cinema Club, Tom Odell, Gavin James, and others.

Speaking about the announcement, Mick Dolan commented: "I’m delighted to announce our third show in King Johns’ Castle for 2023, it’s great to have local acts, the band have moved from strength to strength performing all over the world. The concert this year in the Docklands was without doubt their best yet, and I expect nothing less for their show on the May bank holiday weekend next year."

Tickets are available from this Thursday, December 1, via Dolans or Ticketmaster.
