Limerick city rents increase by 14.4% in a year

AVERAGE monthly rents in Limerick city were €1,195 at the end of March according to the latest Daft.ie Rental Price report.

The report for the first quarter of 2019, shows average monthly rents in the city rose by 14.4% year-on-year. The average cost of a one-bedroom apartment is €878 while a three-bedroom house costs an average of €1,167.

Meanwhile, the average monthly rent in the county stood at €864 – up 11.4% compared to 2018.

According to Daft.ie, monthly rents in Limerick city remain lower than those in Dublin (€2,046), Cork (€1,331), Galway (€1,260) and much of the Dublin commuter belt.

The report also finds the average monthly rent for single bedroom in the suburbs of the city is €358 while a double room will set you back €406.

Across Munster, there were just 570 homes available to rent across Munster on May 1.
