A VAN was seized by Limerick gardai in recent days after it was established the tax had expired three years ago.
Members of the divisional Roads Policing Unit who were on duty in Limerick stopped the Citroen van driver for using a mobile phone while driving.
An inspection of the windscreen then showed that the tax had expired in 2016.
