Limerick Sing Out With Strings project's special show at UCH

Around 300 pupils from Le Cheile National School and St. Mary’s National School will come together for an unmissable adventure

THE Irish Chamber Orchestra’s long-established community engagement programme Sing Out With Strings presents another terrific showcase, The Snail And The Whale.

The show will take place on Tuesday May 21 at 11am at University Concert Hall, Limerick.

Around 300 pupils from Le Cheile National School and St. Mary’s National School will come together for an un-missable adventure.

The Snail and the Whale, written by children’s author Julia Donaldson, tells the tale of a tiny snail and a great big humpback whale.

A tiny snail hitches a lift on the tail of a humpback whale and go on an amazing journey. When the whale beaches in a bay, how does the snail save the day?

The children have composed original songs that bring a certain magic and creativity to this terrific tale. Members of the Irish Chamber Orchestra will accompany the children along with renowned rock-guitarist Dave Keary. Everyone is invited to come along and enjoy a whale of a tale through music and song.

The Irish Chamber Orchestra is resident at the at the University of Limerick. It is funded by The Arts Council of Ireland/An Chomhairle Ealaíon.
