Emergency services called to scene of woods and gorse fire in County Limerick

LIMERICK Fire Service responded to a serious vegetation fire along one of the region's most popular hiking and biking trails on Tuesday night. 

At 8.27pm, three units from Kilmallock and Charleville fire stations were dispatched to the scene of a woods and gorse fire along the biking trail near Kildorrery Road in Ardpatrick. 

The fire brigade spent approximately four and a half hours quenching the flames which had spread considerable distance into the night. 

There were no reported injuries.
