Stage Two of the Kerry Group Rás Mumhan will see some temporary road closures in county Limerick this Saturday
STAGE Two of the Kerry Group Rás Mumhan, the first major stage race of the Irish Cycle Racing season will lead to some road restrictions in West Limerick this Saturday.
The race begins in Listowel at 11am with some 160 cyclists expected to be taking part. The route will take them through Ballylongford, Tarbert, Glin, Athea and Carrigkerry to Ardagh before turning north along the Shanagolden road and going through Ballyhahill, Glin and Athea and returning through Carrigkerry, Ballyhahill and Glin to finish in Athea about 2-2.30pm.
Stewards will be on hand throughout the route but motorists and other cyclists are asked to be vigilant during the hours 11am to 2.30pm.
The 130km route is a tough, hard stage, designed for the real strong elite riders, according to Tadhg Moriarty, course director and PRO for Rás Mumhan. It involves a number of category 2 and 3 climbs.
