Limerick emergency services attending the scene of horse box fire following accident

A major road has been closed while emergency services attend to an overturned horse transporter

A MAIN road into Limerick has been closed while emergency services attend the scene of a overturned horse transporter this Sunday night. 

Earlier this Sunday evening, three units of Limerick Fire Service were dispatched following reports of a horse box fire near the Maldron Hotel on the John Carew Park link road. 

Gardaí and ambulance services also attended the scene this Sunday evening. 

The M20 has been closed between Patrickswell and the interchange until further notice while emergency services deal with  fixing the overturned vehicle, a garda spokesperson confirmed. 

No serious injuries have been reported and all horses seem to be uninjured, he added.
