Ardnacrusha post office closes down due to 'technical difficulties'

Ardnacrusha post office closes down due to 'technical difficulties'

At this stage it is impossible to speculate on when the office might reopen,” said An Post

AN POST has cited as "technical difficulties" the reason for the unexpected temporary closure of Ardnacrusha Post Office.

The Limerick Leader has received a number of complaints from members of the community in Ardnacrusha following what one described as  "the unexpected temporary closure of their post office without any prior announcement".

"Technical difficulties" is the reason cited on the sign outside the post office, with a member of An Post’s press team telling The Leader that it was “circumstances beyond their control” responsible for the closure.

Locals received no warning of the closure and it is very unfair on pensioners and mothers collecting their children’s allowance, said another unhappy caller.

Users of the post office have been redirected to Bridge Street where, as well as being a ten minute drive away, there is “no parking”, making it  “totally inconvenient”.

Despite the disruption caused, there is no timeline on when the post office will reopen, “We regret any disruption caused to our customers.  At this stage it is impossible to speculate on when the office might reopen,” said An Post.
