Launching this year's Team Limerick Clean-Up Picture: Alan Place
TEAM Limerick Clean-Up’s drive for five is well on target.
Just three weeks after the official launch of TLC5 in Castleconnell, registrations have already exceeded the 10,000 mark.
Paul O’Connell, ambassador, said he was delighted to see the fantastic response from people all over the city and county yet again. It is all set-up to be another Good Friday on April 19.
“We’d like to thank everybody who has signed-up early and engaged their local community into action this Good Friday,” said Paul, who would like to see men, women and children who have never put on the free high vis jackets and gloves before to join in TLC5.
“As this is the fifth year of Team Limerick Clean-Up, we’re hoping to celebrate that milestone by ensuring as many people as possible from all over Limerick participate, particularly those who have never done so before.
“It’s a fantastic initiative that benefits the whole county and it would be a tribute to all the hard work done since 2015 if we could make this the biggest year yet,” said Paul.
Each participant this year will receive a copy of Jack McManus’ Limerick ‘til We Die song, specially written following the county’s epic All-Ireland final win last August.
Also, currently live is a primary school Design A TLC Bottle competition. Prizes include vouchers for school equipment, while the winning designs will be printed on reusable bottles for every class member. All entries from artistic boys and girls will be on display at the Hunt Museum from Friday, March 1 to Friday, March 8
Team Limerick Clean-Up is an initiative sponsored by the JP McManus Benevolent Fund and supported by Limerick City and County Council. Endorsed by Paul O’Connell, the official partners include Mr Binman, the Limerick Leader and Live 95FM.
