SHANNON Heritage has launched a new junior cycle project tour, developed in partnership with Limerick Educate Together Secondary School, at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park.
The curriculum-based tour covers a number of subjects, including history, music, home economics, science, geography and foreign languages.
Students are invited to investigate the folk park and castle, exploring key site linked with the Junior Cycle curriculum in an immersive way.
“I have no doubt that other second-level schools will see significant value in such a programme,” Limerick ETSS principal Eoin Shinners said.
“Much of what we do in school is project-lead and we are delighted to be working with Shannon Heritage on this project-based learning pilot programme, which will undoubtedly complement and enhance how we deliver the Junior Cycle curriculum in our school.”
Shannon Heritage director Niall O’Callaghan said: “We look forward to rolling this successful programme out to all our attractions, welcoming many schools across our portfolio.” For more info on the tour, contact education@shan- nonheritage.com or call 061711222.
