Limerick gardai issue warning following theft of diesel from farmyard

A significant quantity of diesel was stolen from a farmyard in Ballylanders

Homeowners, businesses and farmers are being advised to properly secure any fuel tanks which they may have on their property.

The warning has been issued following the theft of  significant quantity of diesel from a farmyard in Ballylanders at the weekend.

Having entered the farm at around 4pm on Saturday the culprits extracted a large quantity of diesel from the farmer’s diesel tank before he confronted them. 

The thieves escaped with the diesel in a silver Toyota Avensis.

“This car had a Dublin Reg, There is no description of the thieves,” said a garda spokesperson.

Gardai at Bruff are investigating the incident and anyone who has information or may have seen the car is asked to contact them at (061) 382940.
