Limerick’s All Time Great: Results of first round of voting
THE first round of voting has taken place in the search to find Limerick’s All Time Great and the results are in.
There were eight polls featuring 16 contestants who were selected from hundreds of nominations and the first round of voting has thrown up some interesting results.
After thousands of votes were cast, the results are as follows:
POLL: Limerick’s All Time Great - Anthony Foley and Richard Harris
RESULT: Richard Harris took 61% of the vote to Anthony Foley’s 39%
POLL: Limerick’s All Time Great - Dolores O’Riordan and Catherine Hayes
RESULT: Dolores O’Riordan won a whopping 97% of the vote to Catherine Hayes’ 3%
POLL: Limerick’s All Time Great - Vicky Phelan and Donogh O’Malley
RESULT: Vicky Phelan won a close battle with 51% to Donogh O’Malley’s 49%
POLL: Limerick’s All Time Great - Andy Lee and Celia Holman Lee
RESULT: It was a 91% win for boxer Andy over style queen Celia
POLL: Limerick’s All Time Great - John Kiely and Jim Kemmy
RESULT: All-Ireland winning coach Kiely beat legendary TD Kemmy with 58% of the vote
POLL: Limerick’s All Time Great - Mick Mackey and Ruth Negga
RESULT: An 82% win for legendary hurler Mick Mackey over the Hollywood film actress
POLL: Limerick’s All Time Great - Blindboy Boat Club and Michael Hogan, Bard of Thomond
RESULT: A lyrical 52% to 48% win for the Rubberbandit Blindboy over the poet from Thomond
POLL: Limerick’s All Time Great - Paul O’Connell and Terry Wogan
RESULT: A big win for the Munster and Irish rugby hero with 71% of the vote over iconic broadcaster Wogan
So what happens now?
We will do a draw for the remaining eight greats this week and four new polls will take place to determine a final four and Limerick’s All Time Great.
