A DRIVER stopped at a Limerick garda checkpoint is facing a court date after telling ‘a few porkie pies’.

The disqualified driver “tried to evade” the Limerick Roads Policing unit at checkpoint near Dromcollogher, gardai said.

“A few porkie pies told at the road side but our #MobilityApp showed that the driver was currently serving a disqualification period,” gardai tweeted.

The motorist also had no insurance and tax. The car was seized and gardai said “court appearance to follow”.
