Swipe right: Limerick is a global leader for Tinder activity

Limerick is one of the top 10 cities in the world for Tinder activity relative to its population size

NEW figures from dating app Tinder show Limerick people are on the world stage when it comes to swiping left or swiping right in the search for romance.

For the first time ever, Tinder has released an analysis of the ‘Year in Swipe’ which captures the top trends among its users for 2018.

The data, which was published this Wednesday afternoon, shows Limerick is one of the top 10 cities in the world for Tinder activity relative to its population size.

However, the figures do not indicate how successful (or not) Limerick users of the app are.

Those behind the dating app have taken a look at how users across the globe have built their profiles and swiped their way through the year.

Beer pairs well with pizza as one of the most popular emojis listed in bios, making it into the top 10 for most countries around the world.

Drake’s In My Feelings was the #1 Spotify anthem for Tinder users across all countries with Spotify while Ariana Grande’s empowering hit, God is a Woman, made the top 10 in six countries.

Pizza was among the top 10 most mentioned foods in people’s bio across nine different countries – proving that, no matter where you live, pizza is a universal language.

Valentines Day trended on Tinder across the world in February while March was the most active month for users in the UK - and specifically Monday’s at 9pm which offered optimal matching conditions.
