Santa is to arrive at the Crescent Shopping Centre at 1pm this Sunday
WITH the spectacular Christmas lights now switched on at the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick the festive period has officially begun and there’s lots of fun in store between now and December 25.
For fashionistas and families alike, the focus this Friday is on Black Friday with 90 retailers and the new additions of Milano, VILA and Golden Discs all offering bargains.
It’s been 45 years since Liam MacCarthy came home to Limerick and also since the Crescent Shopping Centre opened, and, to celebrate, the Limerick Hurling Champions will visit the centre this Saturday at 12.30, signing autographs and taking photos.
And a very important man, Santa, will be arriving at the Crescent Shopping Centre on Sunday at 1pm, in style.
He will be arriving in a horse-drawn magic sleigh to meet all the children and families at the Garryowen Mall entrance (next to River Island) before making his way through the malls to Santa’s new station located on the City Mall. Keep an eye out for Santa’s footprints in the malls to locate him.
Join the parade to lead Santa down to his brand new Santa Station while he greets all the children in attendance. There will be lots of family entertainment including the Limerick Panto Society — dressed in colourful costumes and full of fun, handing out sweets and lollipops to children.
The Crescent Shopping Centre will start its Christmas late opening hours from Thursday, December 6.
Crescent Shopping Centre Manager, John Davitt, said: “The Crescent Shopping Centre serves as a place of tradition at Christmas time for many communities and families in the region over the last 45 years. We look forward to welcoming Santa, who will be in his new Santa Station on the City Mall from Sunday, November 25 every day until Christmas Eve.”
