Springfield House, Sixmilebridge, was sold by GVM Auctioneers
FIVE bidders went toe to toe in GVM’s Limerick city auction room for Springfield House, Sixmilebridge.
The beautiful five bedroom Georgian home, complete with its own library, sits on 65 acres of superb quality rolling parkland. It is ideal for equestrian, beef, dairy enterprises. The guide price was €1,100,000.
Under the watchful eye of GVM’s Tom Crosse, bidding opened at €800,000 on Thursday afternoon. Five bidders participated in the process, reaching to a final bid figure of €1,150,000.
After some post-auction negotiations a deal was done. Mr Crosse remained tight lipped on the final price. However, a figure in the region of €1,300,000 is believed to be the sale price - €200,000 more than the guide.
The vendors were retiring and the purchasers are a local family with strong agricultural and business connections.
