A FUNDRAISING extravaganza will kick off next week at Thomond Park in aid of parents in Direct Provision who receive just €21.60 per week.

The event is organised by the Every Child is Your Child organisation, and will take place at Thomond Park on Saturday, May 12.

The event will consist of a dinner evening with entertainment from Voice of Ireland star Sharon Murphy and African band Elikya, and will be supported by a range of local businesses, University of Limerick, Doras Luimni and Limerick City and County Council.

Welcoming the event, University of Limerick president Des Fitzgerald said that “organisations like this are the reason why Limerick is such a well-regarded city. There is a definitive need for this cause and I am proud to be a supporter.”

Tickets for the Every Child is Your Child night at Thomond Park are on sale for €30 from Doras Luimni and in Limerick, where donations can also be made.

Tickets available online from everychildireland.org or by emailing eciycireland@gmail.com.
