LIMERICK has received a jobs boost this Monday with a high-tech firm announcing 100 new positions.

AMCS Group, based in Fanningstown, Crecora, has secured significant investment from Insight Venture Partners and the Ireland Stategic Investment fund (Isif).

It means the firm is able to open a new global headquarters here, paving the way for the new roles.

AMCS exists to provide integrated software and vehicle technology for the resource management, waste collection and recycling industry.

"Today’s announcement represents a major milestone for AMCS," said Jimmy Martin, the firm’s chief executive and founder, “In addition to providing capital that will enable us to continue to grow and innovate for our customers, this further investment by two of our long-term strategic partners demonstrates their confidence in our business, strategy and team. This confidence is reflected in our plans to further roll out the most comprehensive cloud-based SaaS platform for the resource management, waste collection and recycling markets."

Founded back in 2003, AMCS has already comppleted several overseas acquisitions.

It expects to have revenues of more than €50m this year, doubling it to over €100m in three years.

Some 450 workers are on its books at present.
