HAVE you ever wondered what life was like for the Vikings who once inhabited this country?

For curious minds, Vikings are going to set up camp on the grounds of Salesian Secondary College, Pallaskenry, early next month for a school fundraiser with a difference.

A Viking Fest and local craft fair will take place on Saturday, April 7 and Sunday, April 8. The event will feature fight re-enactments, examples of Viking clothes and jewellery and the chance to interact with Vikings going about their daily life.

Jofur Drengir Viking Association will be showcasing different Viking cultures, such as Scandinavian and Russian, and will showing off crafts and full-contact combat. Several other Viking groups will also take part.

The opening hours on Saturday, April 7, are 12pm to 6pm, and on Sunday, April 8, from 9am to 3pm.

Entry fee is €10 per car (2 adults and 2/3 children) or walk-in €4 per adult and €2 per child.
