A VARIETY of free events aimed at small business owners across Limerick will take place as part of Local Enterprise Week.

No fewer than 18 functions focusing on enterprise will take place between next Monday, March 5, and Friday, March 9, as part of the initiative backed by the Local Enterprise Office, which is aimed at supporting small to medium sized firms.

Award-winning entrepreneur Jamie White will be the keynote speaker at the launch of the week, at the Castletroy Park Hotel this Monday, at 6.30pm.

This will give an overview of other events to come throughout the week.

Highlights include a seminar focusing on the benefits and challenges of franchising a business in the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel on Thursday, March 8, from 6.30pm.

The enterprise office will also team up with Ballyhoura Development on the same day for an event focused on how to use social media effectively in your business.

In the same vein, workshops on digital marketing will also take place on Tuesday, March 6, as well as an introduction to tendering the same day.

On what is looking like a ‘Super Tuesday’, Leader company West Limerick Resources will kick off a four-week Start Your Own Business training programme.

The week will come to a conclusion on Friday, March 9, when Limerick’s Entrepeneur of the Year will be crowned at a special luncheon in the Strand Hotel.

A number of businesses are in the running for the award, which will see the winner represent Limerick at the National Enterprise Awards final in Dublin Castle next May.
