No telephone, broadband or mobile coverage in parts of County Limerick

A heavy fall of snow is causing disruption across Limerick

COUNTY Limerick has been worst hits as Eir reports service interruptions and damage to its pole, cable and mast infrastructure as a result of the ongoing snow and high winds during Storm Emma.

The company said there are an estimated 10,000 customers currently without telephone, broadband and mobile services.

Seven thousand customers are without service in Hospital, Pallasgreen, Murroe, Croom and Kilfinane.

An EIR spokesperson said: "Given the overhead nature of our network in rural Ireland which follows the road network, access remains an issue and repair work will take time."

The company is advising the general public to contact them at 1850 245 424 if the damaged infrastructure is causing a safety risk.

More information on the faults is available at eir.ie but for those without internet access faults can be reported through their automated customer service line 1901.
