THE forecasted blizzard-like conditions and freezing temperatures for Limerick have put paid to The Stranglers' gig in the city.

The UK act were due to play the Big Top at the Milk Market this Friday night, with special guest support from Therapy?.

However, bookers Dolan's and MCD have confirmed that the planned show has been called off and postponed until the new date of Sunday, April 8.

Limerick is bracing itself amid a red weather alert warning for Thursday.
