LIMERICK City and County Council issued just five fines in relation to dog fouling last year, new figures show.

None of these fines for 2017 have yet been paid, senior planner Stephene Duclot told members of the council’s metropolitan district at a meeting in City Hall this Monday.

The data, presented to members this week, followed a request from Sinn Fein’s northside councillor John Costelloe.

Elsewhere at the meeting, councillors agreed to dispose of premises consisting of a dwelling house at 8 Pearse Avenue in Janesboro on the city’s southside.
