Hundreds without power in Limerick as bad weather set to continue

AROUND 400 homes are without power in West Limerick after an afternoon of bad weather across the county.

ESB workers are now scrambling to repair the faulty power lines, despite the continuing hail and high winds that are expected to continue for the night.

A power line in Patrickswell suffered a fault shortly before 2.30pm this afternoon, and is affecting the surrounding areas. It is estimated to be restored around 6pm this evening.

There was also a fault in Croagh, affecting more than 100 customers. The ESB is also hoping to restore power there shortly after 6pm this evening.

A power cut in Kilcornan affected more than 30 houses, and is due to be restored by around 7pm this evening.

In Kilmeedy, the power failure is expected to be repaired after 7pm.
