THOUSANDS of homes were affected by a power outage in County Limerick this Saturday morning.
According to locals living in Patrickswell, Clarina and Kildimo, electricity was cut off for more than an hour at around 10.30am.
The ESB first reported it as a fault on its website, affecting 4,089 customers, at 10.07am.
It further estimated that power would be restored at 1.45pm this Saturday.
It is understood that the problem has been largely solved and that power has been restored to majority of homes affected.
On Friday evening, Limerick racehorse trainer Robbie McNamara took to Twitter to report a “major complaint” that he was to face no electricity or heating during the coldest weekend of the year.
The ESB responded within hours of the tweet and made attempts to reconnect the power at around 11.30pm, he told the Limerick Leader.
