Gardai are investigating a serious road collision on the Limerick side of Charleville
GARDAI are investigating a serious road collision that occurred on the Limerick side of Charleville overnight.
The collision occurred at around 3.20am at Deerpark, Charleville on the main N20.
A 33-year-old man was seriously injured and taken to Cork University Hospital after he was struck by a car.
His condition has been described as serious.
According to gardai, the driver of the car – a 46-year-old man and the other occupants of the vehicle were uninjured in the collision.
The road is currently closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and is expected to remain closed until lunchtime approximately.
Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on that stretch of road between 3am and 3.30am to contact thm at 022 31450
