Man killed in crash on M7 motorway in Limerick

A MAN has died in a crash on the M7 motorway in Limerick.

The man, understood to be in his mid 30s, was the sole occupant of a car that crashed on the motorway, causing the road to be closed on the northbound lane between Junction 29 Ballysimon and Junction 28 Castletroy.

At 9.59am this Tuesday, members of Limerick City and County Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene, where the car crashed over a rail and into a ditch. 

Emergency services, including five fire service units, ambulance services and gardai attended the scene. 

The road has since reopened following a garda investigation.
