Toys, clothes and treats were donated for children and families in Adapt House
THE GENEROSITY of Limerick people will brighten this Christmas for children and families supported by the Adapt House refuge.
Organised by the staff of The Old Quarter Pub and Townhouse, their Angel Tree Appeal saw a huge response, exceeding all expectations.

The Angel Tree was decorated with tags to represent individual children in need and people generously donated toys, clothes and treats over a number of weeks.
Adapt House supports women affected by domestic abuse with guidance, resources, services and empowers them to rebuild their lives.
Manager at the Old Quarter, Catherine Eaton said: “The level of kindness shown by Limerick people has blown all of our expectations out of the water. I honestly never expected we’d receive this many gifts in our first year running the appeal,” she said, beaming with pride as the donations were loaded into a van bound for the families at Adapt House.
She added: “We’ve been absolutely blown away by how the people of Limerick have come together to make sure that these children don’t go without a gift this Christmas.
“Every single donation, no matter how big or small, means so much. It’s been a true demonstration of the Limerick spirit, that we hope to continue for a very long time.”

The appeal was launched in mid-November with the hope of bringing a little magic to the lives of children who might otherwise miss out on the festive joy that so many take for granted. By taking a tag from the Angel Tree, participants had the chance to directly impact a child’s Christmas, and the response has been phenomenal.
For the team at The Old Quarter, the success of the appeal isn’t just about the gifts, it’s about creating a sense of community and reminding everyone that small acts of kindness can make a world of difference.
Gifts and donations are still being accepted at The Old Quarter for anyone who would like to bring a little bit of magic to Christmas for a child this Christmas.
