TUESDAY next promises to be a big day in Askeaton, as the town's swimming pool re-opens after more than two years.
The facility, which is managed by Swim Ireland, will be back in operation from 10am, Limerick City and County Council has confirmed in a statement.
Initially, the facility will only open for four hours' a day - up to 2pm.

But Swim Ireland is working towards delivering full operational hours in the coming weeks.
A formal re-opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place in early December.
Askeaton Swimming Pool and Centre has undergone major refurbishment by Martins Construction since its closure in 2023.
Significant flood protection measures have been implemented as part of the refurbishment works, along with an upgrade of the mechanical and electrical plant.

The closure was seen as necessary to future-proof the facility against flooding from the nearby River Deel and to perform essential maintenance.
