The happy bride and groom with family and friends PICTUREs: @cathallking on X
A HISTORY-making club hurling captain tied the knot with his longtime love in a ceremony over Christmas.
Cathall King led his club, Na Piarsaigh, to All-Ireland senior hurling club success in 2016, the first time in the county’s history.
He married his longtime girlfriend, Carol Cronin, in a blissful ceremony on December 30, when the two beamed as they celebrated their nuptials among friends and family.
Sharing snaps on X (formerly Twitter), Cathall said: “ An unbelievable few days spent amongst family and friends”, while his club Na Piarsaigh wished the couple well on Facebook, writing on December 29: “Wishing our 2016 All Ireland Club winning captain Cathall King and his bride to be Carol Cronin all the best for their wedding day tomorrow.”
As well as being a talented hurler, Cathall is also a talented musician while Carol is a nurse from Martinstown in Co Limerick.
She looked stunning in an elegant, long, lace-sleeved gown featuring a lace high-neck, and held a bouquet of white roses, in theme with the winter ceremony.

Eight years ago, Na Piarsaigh made hurling history as they marched on through Limerick and Munster to be named the first Limerick club to take home the title of All-Ireland senior hurling championship winners.
Cathall captained the team and lifted the Tommy Moore Cup in Croke Park, as they had a decisive win against Ruairí Óg Cushendall of Co Antrim.
Between 1973 and 2016, nine different senior teams from Limerick had fallen short on All-Ireland final day until Na Piarsaigh ended that drought and snapped up success on St Patrick’s Day, 2016.
