LIMERICK Chamber has announced the appointment of a new chief executive.

Michelle Gallagher takes over the role from Dee Ryan, who stepped down earlier this summer to run in the mayoral election.

Ms Gallagher brings with her more than 20 years of experience in driving strategic growth, innovation, and global brand expansion across multiple sectors, including medtech, life sciences, consumer electronics, and aviation.

The Limerick native holds a degree in visual communications from Limerick School of Art and Design, a master’s degree in interactive media, and an executive MBA with first class honours from University of Limerick.

"I am honoured to take on the role of chief executive at Limerick Chamber. Limerick has seen remarkable growth, and I am committed to ensuring that the Chamber continues to be a leading advocate and support for businesses here. I look forward to working closely with our members and the Chamber team to continue and build upon this momentum," Ms Gallagher said.

The board of Limerick Chamber - the largest business representative group in the region - has expressed strong confidence in her leadership.

President Noel Gavin said: "Michelle’s track record of driving transformative change, coupled with her deep connections to the Limerick community, makes her uniquely suited to lead the Chamber into a new era."

As chief executive, Ms Gallagher will focus on advancing Limerick Chamber’s strategic vision, enhancing its advocacy role, and fostering a business-friendly environment that supports local traders, small to medium sized firms and larger enterprises.
