Heading home from hospital: Cian Lynch and twin sons I PICTURE: Instagram
THERE was no paternity leave for Limerick hurler Cian Lynch as he pulled on the green jersey in Croke Park just over a week after becoming a father for the first time.
Partner Dayna Slattery gave birth to twin boys on Saturday, June 29.
She shared a touching black and white picture on Instagram on Monday night of Cian Lynch carrying two baby carriers in a hospital setting. The little ones couldn't be in safer hands.
Cian then reposted the photo on his Instagram account which has almost 50,000 followers.
Cian and Dayna announced that they were expecting twins together back in May in a similar understated, elegant social media post.
It is understood their babies were born a couple of weeks early. The photo included two blue heart emojis, implying that the babies are boys.
“When the two became four,” wrote Dayna.
Many Limerick fans will have green hearts in their eyes as they look forward to the prospect of the new arrivals one day running out on GAA pitches just like their famous dad and granduncle Ciaran Carey.

Cian, still aged only 28 despite his longevity in a Limerick jersey, is used to being pulled and dragged in every direction on the hurling pitch but now he will have it at home in the busy household.
It was not to be for the former Hurler of the Year Cian and his Limerick team-mates against Cork in the All-Ireland semi-final on Sunday but it will be a couple of days he and Dayna will never forget.
Congratulations have been flooding in from well-wishers on social media to the young couple and their bouncing baby boys.
