Delays at scene of two-car collision in Limerick City

Gardaí, ambulance and fire brigades were on the scene

DELAYS are expected in the city centre this evening, following a two-car collision on Lock Quay - between Clare Street and Bridge Street. 

Emergency services got the distress call at 5.10pm and three units of Limerick City Fire Brigade were on scene. 

The fire fighters departed the scene at 6.30pm. 

Witnesses reported seeing one of the cars overturned near a traffic light. 

A garda spokesperson said that as of 7pm, gardaí were still on the scene. 

The garda spokesperson said: "We believe there may be injuries, but no further details at this time."
