Gardaí want to find the good samaritan who helped

A QUICK thinking good samaritan saved the day and the handbag for a woman who was robbed on Friday last.

The woman was sitting in her car at around 7.45pm at Mt Kenneth Place on Friday, April 26.

Garda John Finnerty of Henry Street garda station told the Limerick Leader; “Suddenly a thief opened the passenger door and grabbed a handbag, which was left on the passenger seat.”

The thief ran up the hill towards the junction at Henry Street.

A man who saw events unfold chased the thief and rugby tackled him at the junction and the handbag was recovered.

Nobody knows who the brave hero of the day was and Garda Finnerty said they are keen to find him.

“We have no idea who the good samaritan was, he did not leave any contact details. We are anxious to speak to him and thank him for his brave intention,” Garda Finnerty said.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Henry Street garda station on 061 212400.
