The Charleville Park Hotel
SUPERMAC'S boss Pat McDonagh's hotel group has contacted gardai and initiated legal proceedings this Saturday over a "false" and "vexatious" social media post.
The post on X (formerly Twitter) reads: "Charleville Park Hotel has been taken over by IPA Staff have been given notice."
It was posted on Saturday morning and has received over 100,000 views this Saturday evening.
Limerick Live contacted the The Só Hotel Group which owns the Charleville Park Hotel, as well as Castletroy Park Hotel and Castle Oaks House Hotel in Limerick.
A spokesperson said: "This post is false, vexatious and has caused considerable damage and upset to the hotel staff and owners. Please remove it immediately. The post has been reported to An Garda Síochána and we have initiated legal proceedings."
They added: "We will take every step necessary to protect our staff and reputation."
The Charleville Park Hotel - located just a couple of miles from the Limerick county bounds - employs up to 150 between full and part-time staff.

The post has since been deleted.
This Sunday morning, a spokesperson for the The Só Hotel Group, said it is business as usual at the Charleville Park Hotel.
"Despite some vexatious social media comments to the contrary yesterday. These posts have been reported to An Gárda Síochána and we are pursuing legal action.
"The hotel has maintained its status as a community hotel throughout many challenging years. We are proud members of the Charleville community and will remain so. Thank you for your continued support," said the spokesperson.
