Money stolen from tip jar in Limerick restaurant

GARDAÍ are investigating after money was stolen from a tip jar in Limerick.

On Saturday, March 2 at 7:30pm a young teenage girl walked into a restaurant in the Annacotty area.

She walked up to the counter, took money from the tip jar and ran off.

Sergeant Ber Leetch, crime prevention officer at Henry Street garda station said: "I have often seen these tip jars or baskets and sometimes I see notes in among the coins, this money needs to be protected.

"A box with a lid, similar to a charity box that is attached to the counter is a much better idea."
