GARDAÍ in Limerick have issued a warning after an increase in beer kegs across the country.

Speaking about the issue, Sergeant Ber Leetch, crime prevention officer at Henry Street garda station said that a colleague in Wicklow alerted her to the increase.

"There have been recent thefts of beer kegs from the yard of a pub just after they were delivered.

"It is possible that the criminals saw the delivery being made and waited for their chance to take them.

"It is more secure to be present when your delivery of beer kegs is being made so you can secure them yourself.

"Make sure the kegs are out of sight so keep them in a locked store or chain them together using a good heavy chain and lock".
